Welcome. Today we’re taking on something from the technology that’s increasingly entering our professional and educational lives — interactive displays. In front of us are materials about the German brand Metz. We’ll look into brochures, specifications, and articles. Interestingly, Metz is a brand with tradition, but now part of the global Skyworth Group. What’s our goal? To analyze their H, K, and S series, see what they offer, what the differences are, and where they can be useful. In short, to extract the essence from all these papers. Let’s begin.
Yes, it’s an important topic because these displays are no longer a novelty. They’re increasingly common in schools, universities, and companies — in conference rooms and offices. So it’s worth seeing what exactly a manufacturer like Metz has to offer and how they position their products on the market. Alright, from the beginning. We have these three lines: H, K, and S. H is the basic one, K is more business-oriented, and S is the premium tier.
All are available in the standard sizes: 65, 75, and 86 inches. What do we see at first glance in terms of differences?
There’s a clear performance jump between the series — like a ladder. The H series has an Arm Cortex A55 processor and 4 GB RAM. The K series is a stronger unit, with A73 and A53 cores and 8 GB RAM, and the S series is truly powerful: a processor with A78 and A55 cores and 16 GB RAM. Similarly for storage: starting from 32 GB in H, then 128 GB in K, and up to 256 GB in the S series.
Okay, so the higher the letter, the more power under the hood. And what does that mean in practice?
That’s a key difference affecting performance. More RAM and a stronger processor — especially in K and S — means smoother operation with multiple apps at once. They handle heavier content, like 4K video, and run demanding interactive software without stutter. The S series offers enough power to handle anything smoothly.
And the operating system — are there differences there too?
Yes. The H and K series run Android 11, while the flagship S series features Android 13 with EDLA certification. EDLA (Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement) means full Google certification for enterprise and education, access to Google Play, pre-installed Google Docs, Sheets, and Meet, plus advanced security management. The S series already has an announced update to Android 15, ensuring long-term support.
So the S series is ready to integrate with Google’s ecosystem and meet institutional needs. And sound and picture? 4K is standard for all of them, right?
Exactly. All offer 4K UHD 3840×2160 resolution with Direct LED backlighting. That ensures even lighting and solid contrast, but there are big differences in audio and video. The H and K series have 2×15 W stereo speakers, while the S series adds 2×20 W plus a 20 W subwoofer for stronger bass. Only the S series includes a built-in 48 MP camera and eight directional microphones.
That’s a big difference. So the S series is practically a ready-to-use video conferencing setup.
Exactly — that’s the idea. A built-in quality camera and multiple microphones remove the need for external hardware, simplifying installation and use in conference rooms or classrooms for hybrid lessons. It’s one of the S series’ key advantages.
Right. And the touch technology? You said they’re interactive.
There’s progress here too. H and K support up to 20 touch points with < 8 ms response time — the market standard. The S series raises the bar to 50 touch points and under 2 ms response time. That means smoother, more natural writing and drawing, especially when multiple users interact. The S series also introduces Zero Bonding technology.
Zero Bonding? Sounds technical — what is it?
It’s a technology that eliminates the air gap between the LCD panel and touch layer. The result is a natural “pen-on-paper” feel, higher precision, and almost zero parallax. The S series claims touch accuracy of ±0.5 mm — an excellent result.
Got it. So writing feels more natural. What else do all these series have in common, apart from 4K?
Besides 4K and DLED backlighting, all Metz displays are designed for 24/7 operation, built with durability in mind for offices, schools, and info points. All feature 9H tempered glass.
9H sounds tough. What does that mean for the user?
9H hardness means very high scratch resistance — you can’t easily scratch it even with keys or coins, which is crucial in schools and public areas. All models also include an OPS slot.
OPS — so you can insert an extra PC module.
Exactly. The display runs Android by default, but with an OPS module it becomes a full Windows PC — a feature many Microsoft 365 users prefer.
Alright, we’ve covered differences and similarities. The S series looks the most advanced, and the materials highlight it strongly. What else makes this flagship model stand out?
The S series is presented as a complete “all-in-one” solution. Beyond strong specs (CPU, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB storage), Android 13 with promised updates, integrated audio-video, and Zero Bonding touch, it also features an anti-glare screen and eye-protection modes that reduce blue light emission — important for long sessions.
That’s key for long-term use. And what about wireless connectivity and collaboration?
The S series has Wi-Fi 6 for stable connections and dual Gigabit LAN ports (input/output) for easy network integration. A key feature is the Ergocast app for wireless screen sharing from PC, Mac, Android and iOS — with support for up to nine devices displayed simultaneously on a split screen.
Nine devices at once? That’s a game-changer for brainstorming or interactive lessons.
Indeed. In classrooms, multiple students can show their work at once; in meetings, team members can instantly add content without cables — speeding up collaboration.
You mentioned physical ports — are there really that many?
The S series is well equipped. At the front, you get a USB-C port (4K 60 Hz video + 100 W laptop charging), HDMI input and USB 3.0. On the sides and back: additional HDMI, DisplayPort in, more USB ports, LAN ports, audio in/out, RS-232, digital coax audio out and a TF card reader.
So you can really connect almost anything. And what about the warranty — especially for education?
Standard warranty is 3 years, but for the education sector Metz offers a 5-year warranty on these displays. That’s a big plus when choosing equipment for schools and universities where long-term reliability matters. The S series also comes with a dedicated wall mount.
Indeed, a 5-year warranty for education is solid. So to sum up: the offer splits into three segments — H (economy), K (business), and S (premium) — differing in performance, features, and price.
All offer 4K picture, durability (24/7 operation, 9H glass) and flexibility with the OPS slot for Windows.
The S series clearly stands out as the most advanced.
Absolutely. The S series is a comprehensive tool for education and demanding business users. It combines powerful specs, Android 13 with EDLA and Google Play access, high-quality integrated AV (48 MP camera, eight mics, subwoofer), super-fast touch (50 points, < 2 ms, Zero Bonding), and advanced wireless collaboration features like Ergocast supporting up to nine devices.
And let’s not forget the 5-year warranty for education — a strong argument indeed.
Exactly. Together with EDLA certification, it makes the S series very appealing for schools and universities looking for modern, integrated and secure solutions.
To wrap up — we’ve talked a lot about the S series: camera, microphones, multi-device display, precise touch, Google integration. How can the fusion of so many advanced technologies in one device fundamentally change interaction dynamics compared to traditional methods or separate devices?
What new, more engaging forms of collaboration — in lessons, workshops, or business meetings — become possible thanks to such integration? What does it open up?
And let’s circle back to the manufacturer: Metz is part of Skyworth. What does that mean for a customer in Poland?
Skyworth is a global player with over 16 years of experience and massive production capacity. They operate factories worldwide — including in Poland and Germany. Metz Display products are available in Poland directly from the Polish distributor HSI’s warehouse, ensuring good availability, local sales and technical support, and warranty service handled in Poland.
